Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
This radio program is an act of God. After moving Carolinas from SC to NC in 2012 to be closer to my future wife, we joined a local church and I was quickly put to work in the ministry. First recording audio, and then video sermons.
After filming literally hundreds of messages, The Lord called me to get out from behind the camera and go preach. During this time I was afforded the opportunity to preach with the youth, at nursing homes, and a local Christian rehabilitation mission.
Some years later I felt the Lord tugging on my heart to plant a church near our home in Kings Mountain, NC.
Heartland Community Baptist Church was the end result, a small church inside a chapel in a field. No, literally, the church we rented was, and still is, called Chapel in The Field. And yes, it is a chapel, in a field.
It was to the common passer-by a wedding chapel for rent, but to us, it was our sanctuary. Joined by several other families we worshipped there for the better part of 10 months, before moving to a storefront building on a busy street in Lincolnton.
Around the time COVID-19 hit we were all quarantined, and the Lord was hard at work on me to do more for Him. I knew He wanted me to do something, and logically, I thought it was to grow our local church.
Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
This, however, was not the vision the Lord had for me. As I studied my Bible and prayed fervently, it became clear the Lord was guiding me to start a radio ministry.
Having some experience in teaching, and a passion for radio in general, it seemed like a great fit.
Our first episode aired on WHPY in Clayton, NC on Sunday, October 1st, 2020. As God would have it, this station is owned by Fellowship Baptist, the same church my wife attended many years prior. I had no idea! To both her and I, it was God’s stamp of approval on the ministry.
As we enter our third year it is to God’s glory that the program now airs on 22 different stations throughout NC, SC, TN, and FL.
Psalms 56:11 KJV In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
As a God-funded effort, we don’t solicit donations on air, and we have no riches to our name. God has miraculously, and continuously provided for this ministry. So how could I or anyone else take any credit for what’s happened here? This is God’s program, and all glory and honor and praise goes to Him!
In addition to the radio program, I still remain a local preacher. Heartland Community Baptist Church has morphed into Heartland Ministries, and we now hold a home fellowship with a small group three times per week with a home-cooked meal at nearly every service!
Looking ahead KJV Cafe will continue to add new radio partners as the Lord guides and expand our online ministry with a focus on reaching the world with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

***Fall 2023 Update***
After much prayer and consideration, the Lord has moved us to go fully online with our ministry and church. This was not something we engaged in lightly.
We were fortunate to broadcast on radio stations in the Southeast U.S. for the better part of three years, and now have moved formats to a growing daily podcast. I wanted to keep the initial post intact, to help anyone curious understand how good God is, and what He has done over the years, and of course, the genesis for our current ministry.
We will do our best to update this page as the Lord brings about new and exciting changes in this ministry. While we can’t see what He’s going to do, we can look to the past to see all that He has done, and with joy look forward to all that He is going to do!
